Tempus Vernum

Current Obsession: White Dresses

Current Favorite Blog: Toasty Biscuit

Current Favorite Beverages: Chai Tea and Ginger Ale

There are times when I am desperate for energy and days feel like weeks and all I can think about is climbing into bed and sleeping for years and years. Then there are times when I have too much energy, like now. It is mostly my fault for giving into my iced coffee craving, but I am also known for my randomness of sleep.

Right now all I can think about are the books I want to read, the places where I’d like to read them, and the soft, featherweight dresses I want to wear to those places. I am considering starting Pride and Prejudice since I’ve never read a Jane Austen book and spring seems like a perfect time to read one. I am also considering finishing the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (I am already one and a half books in) or Moby Dick (about 1/8 complete). I am finishing up Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood, which surprised me with how much I enjoyed reading it.

My genre appreciation is ever broadening and I’m really proud of myself for not sticking to the depressing coming of age novels that I developed an affinity for during my college years. Nothing is wrong with those books, but there is more to life, and as it turns out, more to me. I am finding I can relate to and find an interest in much more than I give myself credit for.

Speaking of books, here is the link for an amazing website, Milk + Bookies. It’s an organization that promotes literacy and encourages children to participate in the act of giving to other children less privileged. You can find out how to host your own event or donate by clicking on the link!

A Little Princess

“I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren’t pretty, or smart, or young. They’re still princesses.

Miracle

Here is another video by director Stéphanie Di Giusto for Vanessa Bruno’s 2011 Spring/Summer line. Miracle features the ever cool and alluring Lou Doillon and the beautifully ethereal Jessica Joffe. I love the short films that Bruno and Di Giusto create for each of Bruno’s lines. The sense of whimsy, adventure, and spontaneity exuded in these films complements Bruno’s aesthetic completely.
